What Days Until does

Scan the date

On-device text recognition reads best-before and use-by dates from the label. Add your own keywords (for example "mindestens haltbar") so it works with products in any language.

Clear countdowns

Every item shows the days left, sorted by what expires first, with colour-coded cards for what's safe, expiring soon or already expired. Search your whole list.

Reminders in time

Get a reminder 30 days, 1 week and 1 day before each item expires, so there's time to use it up or renew it.

Opened, quantities, fresh food

Tap "Opened it" and the countdown moves to how long it keeps once open. Track 6 yoghurts or 12 eggs and use them up one at a time. No date on it? Pick a typical shelf life.

Documents and renewals

Never miss renewing a passport, ID card, driver's licence, visa, insurance, warranty or certificate.

Used it or tossed it

Mark items as used or thrown away when they leave the fridge, so your list stays honest. No item limit, and backup and restore are free.

Questions

Is there an item limit?

No. Track as many items as you like for free. Backup and restore are free too.

Does the scanner read barcodes?

No. It reads the printed date text (best before, use by, expiry) from the label, on your device.

What can I track besides food?

Anything with a date: medicine, cosmetics, passports, ID cards, driver's licences, visas, insurance, warranties, certifications and subscriptions.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Labels are processed on your phone and items are stored only on your device. No account, no ads.

What happens with a date like "OCT 2026"?

If a label only shows month and year, Days Until uses the last day of that month.
